Title: Do You Have the Mind of Christ?

Text:

Philippians 2:5-8 (HCSB)
5 Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus,
6 who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage.
7 Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form,
8 He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.

Observation:

One of my recent devotionals resulted in a friend bringing up the tropic that I have chosen for today's meditation. I did not immediately respond to the question she asked, but I did begin to give it some thoughtful consideration. I woke up this morning with this verse of my mind.

Philippians 2:5 (AMP)
5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]

To have the mind of Christ we must learn to live in His presence. The amazing and awesome thing is that we have access to God. He has an open door, an open ear, and an open heart.

The secret to having the mind of Christ is to spend time with Him. Others may not have time for you, but Jesus has plenty of time for you; its quantity and quality time.

Hebrews 10:19-22 (NLT)
19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.
20 By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.
21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's house,
22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

God has done His part. How will you respond? It's now time; today, not tomorrow.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, I am so thankful for the privilege of being able to live in your presence; not just in the sweet by and by, but right now we have the opportunity to walk through the open door that you offer. Lord, I pray that your believing people will not forfeit this opportunity. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Revelation 3:20 (HCSB)
20 Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me.

Song:

"All things are ready," come to the feast!

Come for the table now is spread;

Ye famishing, ye weary, come,

And thou shalt be richly fed.

Hear the invitation,

Come, whosoever will;

Praise God for full salvation

  For whosoever will.
