Title: Why God's People Can Live with Confidence in the World

Text:

Psalm 37:23-24 (KJV)
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Observation:

No one who expects to spend eternity with God in the place that He has prepared for them expects to make the journey without the Lord. The writer of Hebrews got it right when He wrote these words.

Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I am so encouraged and comforted by the words of Jesus that He spoke to His disciples then, and to us today. The Lord has a wonderful purpose, plan, and place for His people.

John 14:1-4 (KJV)
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

There is a security, safety, and satisfaction in knowing that our steps are ordered by the Lord. This world may knock us down, but it cannot knock us out. How is this possible? The reason is that the Lord upholdeth us with His hand. I live with hope and confidence because of Jesus.

John 14:6 (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Prayer:

Father God, I am so thankful the perfect Lamb was slaughter for our sins. O, Jesus is so precious to me; I never shall forget what He did for me.

Isaiah 53:4-6 (KJV)
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Father God, I am so thankful for the privilege and opportunities that You provide for us to share the Lamb. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
