Title: The Lord is Coming Again - - Are You Living in the Light?
Text:
Romans 13:11-14 (HCSB)
11 Besides this, knowing the time, it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
12 The night is nearly over, and the daylight is near, so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
13 Let us walk with decency, as in the daylight: not in carousing and drunkenness; not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy.
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no plans to satisfy the fleshly desires.
Observation:
The first century believers lived with the expectation that the Lord Jesus could return at any time. This should be the expectation of the believers of every age until He returns.
Notice in our focal passage for today the exhortations that the Apostle Paul gives. He admonishes that it is time to wake up, get up, clean up and dress up.
My friends, we need to do those things, and don't forget to look up. Is there anything you need to put off? Is there anything you need to put on? His coming could be any day. Let's live like it could be today.
Living for Jesus a life that is true,
Striving to please Him in all that I do;
Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
This is the pathway of blessing for me.

Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray that you will stir the hearts of Your people to prepare for your coming by putting on the armor of light. Lord, I want to be ready when you come. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
--
Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
