Title: What is the Because That Fuels Your Passion and Purpose?

Text:

Philippians 3:12-16 (ESV)
¹² Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
¹³ Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
¹⁵ Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.
¹⁶ Only let us hold true to what we have attained.

Observation:

The Apostle Paul knew the purpose for which he was born and born again. In our focal passage for today we see the passion that fueled his purpose.

Paul was totally committed to the Lord. He was all in for Jesus, and the purpose and calling of God for his life. He had his priorities right; and he was intentional in fulfilling his potential. He presents a superb example for us to follow. O, that we would pursue our purpose with the passion that Paul pursued his.

¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray that You would give each of us the grace that we need to fuel our passion for fulfilling our God ordained purpose. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

"Lord, plant my feet on higher ground."

• Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
  By faith on Canaan's tableland;
  A higher plane than I have found,
