Title: Do You Have the Freedom That No One Can Take Away?

Text:

Galatians 5:1 (ESV)
1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Observation:

Happy Independence Day!

Freedom is not free, and it is not permanent. We are grateful for those who have given their lives to protect and preserve our nation.

However, God's people have a freedom that the world knows nothing about, and it is a freedom that no one can take away. This freedom is also not free; it is a gift to us, but it was costly to Christ Jesus. Are you standing firm in the freedom that Christ has given you? Jesus removed the yoke; you are free to live for Christ.

Acts 15:6-11 (ESV)
6
The apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider this matter.
7
And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.
8
And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us,
9
and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith.
10
Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
11 But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will."

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful that You sent Jesus into the world to free us from the bondage of sin, death, and the grave. Father, I am so glad that those who the Son sets free are free indeed. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

John 8:36 (ESV)
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

"Free from the law—oh, happy condition!
Jesus hath bled, and there is remission;
Cursed by the law and bruised by the fall,
Christ hath redeemed us once for all."

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
