Title: Forgiven People Should Practice Forgiveness

Text:

Psalm 86:5 (ESV)
5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.

Observation:

When trouble knocked on the door of David, he knew where to turn. It's good to have a right relationship with the Lord before trouble knocks on your door. Then when trouble comes, you will know God, and He will know you.

This Psalm reminds us of the importance of having a personal relationship with the Lord; and to have that relationship current. David was a man who loved the Lord, and He was a man of prayer. This is a man who was accustomed to talking with the Lord.

Psalm 86:1 (ESV)
1 Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

David knew the Lord, and he knew His power. David had faith in God, and he was confident that God would hear and answer his prayer. David wanted God to get the glory.

Psalm 86:6-7 (ESV)
6
Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.
7
In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.
Psalm 86:9 (ESV)
9 All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.

Prayer:

Father God, Sovereign Lord, my dear Father, I pray that when my prayers go up to You that You will get the glory for answered prayer. Father, I pray that when I receive grace from You that I will respond with gratitude to You, and forgiveness to others. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

--

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
