Title: Do You Know the Power That Makes Obedience Possible?

Text:

Ezekiel 36:27 (ESV)
²⁷ And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

Observation:

Last week I wrote on the topic, "Where is the Best Place to Learn Obedience?" In today's focal verse we find that God's Spirit gives us the power to obey God.

Isn't God good? What He commands us to do; He gives us the power to do. He has given each of His children the abiding gift of the Holy Spirit; the power to love and obey Him.

John 14:15-18 (ESV)
¹⁵ "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,
¹⁷ even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
¹⁸ "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Prayer:

Father God, Sovereign Lord, my dear Father, I praise and thank You for the presence and power of the Spirit of God who lives in the hearts of Your people.

Father God, I am so grateful that we are never without hope and help, we are never without provisions and power because God's Spirit lives in our hearts. Father, help us to appropriate that power in our daily living. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
