Title: The Reason Why I Have Hope

Text:

Isaiah 60:2 (ESV)

2  For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.

Observation:

As I sat at my computer this morning and write I have a diagnostic program running on another computer. The application just completed, and I turned to look at the results.

The first item on the report was operational status. I was delighted to see this result for each item listed: PROTECTED.

I said to myself, "This is like falling off of a log, and not nearly as dangerous". There are examples in the Bible, like the focal verse from Isaiah, and from the normal current day activities, like the software application that ran on my computer that show the evidence of God is everywhere. We just need eyes to see, ears to hear, and an open heart to believe that faith can see what our natural eyes cannot see, and our ears will not hear.

Exodus 8:22-23 (ESV)

22  But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where my people dwell, so that no swarms of flies shall be there, that you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

23  Thus I will put a division between my people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall happen.

The LORD is everywhere; He is the same: yesterday, today, and forever, the Lord is God almighty.

The world may be in total darkness, but God is the creator, and the sustainer of life; He has the whole world in His hands. God can turn darkness into light.

He will do it in your life if you are willing to humble yourself and look to Him, and admit that He is God, and you are not. This is my daily prayer.

Psalm 119:18 (KJV)

18  Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

A concluding thoughtful question, "What do you say after you hear what God says?". This is what I sing to the Lord.

"While life's dark maze I tread,

And griefs around me spread,

  Be Thou my Guide;

Bid darkness turn to day,

Wipe sorrow's tears away,

Nor let me ever stray

  From Thee aside."

Prayer:

Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven. Father, my faith looks up to You; no other help will do what You alone can do.

Father, let your light shine in our homes, in the Church house, in the School house, in the houses of the Media, in the People's houses of Government, and in the Whitehouse. Father, let Your light shine so brightly that it will expel the darkness from our houses to the Whitehouse, and every house in the whole world. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
