Title: Have You Eaten At This Place?

Text:

John 6:35 (HCSB)

35  "I am the bread of life," Jesus told them. "No one who comes to Me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in Me will ever be thirsty again.

Observation:

Have you ever asked the question, "Who Am I?"

I read something recently that challenged me to ask better questions as a pathway to getting better results. Let me try with these questions.

Who do you belong to? Do you belong to Jesus? Who is Jesus? He said no one comes to the Father except through Him.

John 14:6 (HCSB)

6  Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

This is what the Bible says about Jesus:

Hebrews 1:1-3 (HCSB)

1  Long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways.

2  In these last days, He has spoken to us by {His} Son. God has appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him.

3  The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Are you satisfied at the table you have been eating? Does it satisfy the deep longing of your heart? Are you hungry and thirsty for real life? Do you desire to live forever in the presence of God? Have you accepted Jesus invitation to come to Him?

John 1:12 (HCSB)

12  But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name,

Prayer:

Father, I thank You for the love that You have for the whole world; the declaration of Your Word that says, "God is not willing that any should perish".

Father, I pray that those who hear the word, and have never received Jesus, would receive Him today. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Song:

The Savior is Waiting - Lyrics by Ralph Carmichael

The Savior is waiting to enter your heart

Why don't you let Him come in

There's nothing in this world to keep you apart

What is your answer to Him.

Refrain

Time after time, He has waited before

And now He is waiting again

To see if you're willing to open the door

Oh, how He wants to come in.

If you'll take one step toward the Savior, my friend

You'll find His arms open wide

Receive Him and all of your darkness will end

With in your heart He'll abide.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
