Title: What is the Foundation That Your Life is Built Upon?
Text:
Psalm 18
Praise for Deliverance
For the choir director. Of the servant of the Lord, David, who spoke the words of this song to the Lord on the day the Lord rescued him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:
1
I love You, Lord, my strength.
2
The Lord is my rock,
my fortress, and my deliverer,
my God, my mountain where I seek refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold.
Observation:
The one word for today is deliverance. I find it so amazing how God works in the lives of His people.
I read this Psalm a few days ago, and I made a note to revisit it. However, the Lord brought it to my attention yesterday as I was reading my news feed on Social Media. So, I surrendered, I said, "Speak Lord, Your servant is listening". In response I am reading His Word, and writing to discover what He is saying to me.
Isn't it wonderful to look at all the things that the Lord did for David? Let's count them.
- My strength
- My rock
- My fortress
- My deliverer
- My God
- My mountain
- My shield
- Horn of my salvation
- My stronghold
- My refuge
What does your list look like? Has the Lord brought you through anything that you are grateful to Him for?
I am so grateful that whatever I need the Lord is able and willing to supply. I am so thankful my God loves me so much. He will do for you whatever you need; why don't you talk to Him now. I am so grateful that my life is built on the solid rock of Jesus, my deliverer. He is a mighty Savior, and a wonderful friend.
Philippians 4:19 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Prayer:
Father God, I am so grateful that what you were to David, you are able and willing to be for each child of God. Father, I thank You for being my refuge, and my wisdom and strength for every day. God has spoken, so let the Church say, Amen.
Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
