Title: The Peace of His Presence
Text:
Psalm 73:23-26 (HCSB)
23 Yet I am always with You; You hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will take me up in glory.
25 Who do I have in heaven but You? And I desire nothing on earth but You.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever.
Observation:
Today's word is presence. This word reached into the depths of my soul, and it grips my heart. I want to pray a prayer that this word will find a home in your heart. Will you pray this prayer with the Psalmist and me?
Psalm 119:18 (HCSB)
18 Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wonderful things from Your instruction.
As members of the human race we all face ups and downs in our life. As we say in the financial world of investing, "Trees don't grow to the skies". So in our daily walk, we don't live continually with mountain top experiences. Life is lived in the valley, and in the valley we face trials and temptations.
However, the child of God is not without hope and help; we have a God who loves and cares for His children. The Lord is always present; He is never absent.
These are the five words that leaped off the page, and into my heart. "I am always with you". The one who gives this promise is God, and Jesus is the way to God. We should always remember the words from the lips of Jesus when He said this to His disciples.
John 14:6 (HCSB)
6 Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so grateful for the promise that every child of God can claim; the abiding presence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in our heart.
Father God, help us to remember that whatever we are going through, that You are always with us. So glad that nothing is too difficult for You.
O, how sweet these five words are to us, the believing children of God, "I am always with you". Father, we are so thankful for all of our blessings. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Luke 1:37 (HCSB)
37 For nothing will be impossible with God."
Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
