Title: Do You Know the Rx for the Troubled Heart?

Text:

John 14:1 (ESV)
1 "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

Observation:

Some of the most profound things in life can be described in very simple and understandable words. That is the case for the cure for the troubled heart; it's as simple as ABC.

Always

Believe

Christ

Jesus said, "Let not your hearts be troubled". The Old Testament scriptures taught this.

Deuteronomy 1:21 (ESV)
21 See, the LORD your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has told you. Do not fear or be dismayed.'

Joshua 1:9 (ESV)
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

The cure for the troubled heart is belief in God; belief in Jesus. Again this is consistent with the Old Testament scripture.

Isaiah 28:16 (ESV)
16 therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: 'Whoever believes will not be in haste.'

Here is why you should always believe in Christ.

John 14:6-7 (ESV)
6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him."

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful that Jesus is the cure for the troubled heart.

Father God, I believe that You are our creator and provider; and that everything we have come from You. Father, I thank You that faith is a gift, and I pray that we will each use it; that we would always believe in Christ. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
