Title: Do You Know the Living One?

Text:

Revelation 1:18 (KJV)
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Observation:

Today our focus is on the Living One. In the book of Revelation, Jesus has many names; one of those names is the Living One.

There are many things that people have to fear in these trying times. One of the greatest fears is death. However, the Living One has taken care of that enemy.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (KJV)
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus, the Living One, has conquered death. We who know Jesus as Savior never have to fear the future because of what Jesus did on the cross at Calvary. Moreover, what he did on the third day after they laid him in the grave, seals the deal. Death has been defeated. Because Jesus lives forever, we shall live forever. You can endure anything if you remember this promise.

Revelation 21:4 (HCSB)
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.

Prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, I am so thankful for the privilege of knowing You, and because of Your love and provisions, I don't have to fear anything. Father, I thank You for giving us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
 He lives within my heart.
