Title: Do You Know Your Purpose for Being Alive?
Text:
Isaiah 43:10 (NLT)
"But you are my witnesses, O Israel!" says the Lord. "You are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God— there never has been, and there never will be.
Observation:
I read something recently that encouraged me to ask better questions. This is the question I have been pondering this morning, "Who Am I Determined to Become?"
In pursuit of the answer to that question the Lord took me to the mountain top to give me the vision of who He wants me to be. Now the mountain was in my bedroom. I grabbed my notepad app, and begin to write. I had a conversation with God; He talked to me, and I listened and wrote down what He said. I asked Him questions, and He gave me answers.
I got up went to my desk, and turned on the computer. While waiting I opened a devotional book, "My Utmost for His Highest", and read today's devotion. If you are curious, look it up.
Now, I'm in the valley, and I'm starring at this blank page, and typing what comes from the depths of my heart, and the front of my mind.
The message to me today is that God wants to have a living relationship with me. Wow! What an awesome vision. Now, in faith and obedience, I look forward to seeing Him work it in, and giving me the grace to work it out.
John 15:1-4 (ESV)
1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so in awe and wonder at how much You love us, and Your desire to have a living and abiding relationship with us. Father God, I hear Your voice clearly saying to me, "Be faithful and Obedient to Me". Lord, I can't do it without You holding my hand. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
My Soul Sings:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior!
I come to Thee.
