Title: How Much Do You Value Prayer?
Text:
Colossians 4:2-3 (ESV)
2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—
Observation:
I still have prayer on my heart. There are so many problems in this world. However, they are not all over there, but many of them are with our loved ones; our family and friends. This week has presented opportunities to intercede for some of you. I encourage you to continue asking others who value prayer to pray for you. Not everyone first instinct is prayer.
When you have trials and troubles in your life where do you turn for help? Do you complain to your family and friends? Do you wear them out with your crying and complaining? Why not do like the hymn writer of our featured song for today? Why not tell your troubles to Jesus? You will find others willing to join you in prayer. Why worry when you can pray?
2 Thessalonians 3:5 (ESV)
May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
Prayer:
Father God, I pray that my faith will pass the test; that I will be faithful to You, and to the Word of God. Father, I pray that I may become more and more a man of prayer and the Word of God. Father, I am so grateful for those who pray for me. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray for others, and myself, Amen.
1 Peter 5:7 (ESV)
casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
My Soul Sings:
I must tell Jesus all of my trials;
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me;
He ever loves and cares for His own.
