Title: What Is Your Attitude About Your Life?
Text:
Psalm 92:1-4 (ESV)
1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; 2 to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, 3 to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. 4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Observation:
I have observed over the course of my life the importance of attitude in almost every area of life; in the home, school, business, the community, and the Church. I have heard this quote, by Edwin Louis Cole, "Attitude determines the altitude of life".
David said in our featured passage from Psalms that it is a good thing to give praise to the Lord. It is good to praise him in the morning, it is good to praise him at noon time, and it is good to praise him in the evening before you lay your head to rest. It is good to praise God anytime and all the time.
David learned the lesson of looking up to God rather than looking back to the past. To be sour about the past is to live on stale bread. The past is behind us, and we have a bright future. Today is a day of hope and promise because we have our heavenly Father as our source. We can ask him to give us fresh bread to nourish us each day.
Luke 11:3 (HCSB)
Give us each day our daily bread.
I have decided that today is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. So today I look forward. Today, right now, I can praise God for His lovingkindness. Yesterday, I had a birthday, so I am older than I have ever been before. It is timely that I found this quote to start my day.
"It does not pay to get sour as you get old. I pity a man who lives in the past. He lives on stale manna. He gets stunted". {Dwight L. Moody}
Do you need an attitude adjustment to motivate you to reach the altitude that God has designed you to reach? Why not meditate on our focal passage, Psalm 92:1-4, and do what it says; TNT, today not tomorrow. There is power in prayer and in praise. Why not cultivate an attitude of gratitude?
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so grateful for today. As I look back over my life, I can say that You have brought me a mighty long way. Father God, I look forward to a bright future; I don't know what that future will be down here, but I know where I will spend eternity. I am so glad I belong to You, and that You belong to me. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
