Title: By What Power Are You Walking?

Text:

Galatians 5:16-18 (ESV)
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Observation:

It is not easy to live the Christian life in a fallen world. None of us is able to keep the law. This is what the Bible says about the law and faith.

Galatians 3:11 (ESV)
Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for "The righteous shall live by faith."

Galatians 3:24 (ESV)
So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.

O, I am so thankful that I don't have to walk in this world alone; I am so grateful for a God who knows my name; that He walks with me, and talks with me, and tells me that I belong to Him. Yes, life is hard down here, but God is good, and He is good all the time.

In life there are blessings, but with every blessing there is a burden that someone had to bear. The ultimate example of this is the burden that Jesus bore for our redemption. He died so that we might have life, and have it more abundantly.

Yes, you will have bumps on the pathway of walking with Jesus, but you have the blessed assurance that you never have to walk alone. So, by faith, determine to walk with Jesus every step of the way. He will turn those bumps in the road into stepping stones to your destiny. What the enemy intended to destroy you, God will use to deliver you.

Galatians 5:25 (ESV)
If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful that You sent Jesus who took our burdens so that we might have the blessing of being Your adopted sons and daughters. Father God, I am so thankful for the mighty work of the triune God in the lives of Your people.

Father, I pray for the faith to surrender every ounce of my will to Thy will. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
