Title: Do You Know Jesus?
Text:
Psalm 45:1-2 (ESV)
1 My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.
2 You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.
Psalm 45:6-8 (ESV)
6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;
7 you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;
8 your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad;
Observation:
This Psalm is messianic; it shows us Christ, and His relationship to the church, and to believers in the future. We see this prophecy come to pass in the writings of the New Testament passages that follow. Reading it caused me to pause; and contemplate the wonder of the love of God. It brings a smile to my face, and a song to my lips; "O, How I Love Jesus".
Hebrews 1:8-9 (ESV)
8 But of the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions."
Revelation 19:7-8 (ESV)
7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;
8 it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure"—
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful that You have spoken to us, and told us about Jesus; your only begotten son. Father, I am so grateful that we can know You through Him.
Hebrews 1:1-2 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Father God. O, how blessed we are to know You. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
My Soul Sings:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!
