Title: Have You Received the Most Generous Gift Ever Given?
Text:
Psalm 34:4-5 (HCSB)
4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces will never be ashamed.
Observation:
There are many good things in this life; some things may even be great. However, these things will eventually end. Conversely, there is one thing that will outlast everything, and that is God's love; it will last forever.
There is nothing that we can do to earn God's love; we do not deserve it. However, it is within the reach of every person. Here is the key to getting it. It's a gift that God offers to all in this way.
John 3:16 (HCSB)
"For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
God has done for us what we could not do for ourselves. The late Bill Bright said this:
"God's love for you is unconditional and undeserved. He loves you in spite of your disobedience, your weakness, your sin and your selfishness. He loves you enough to provide a way to abundant, eternal life."
God has done His part; a gift is of no value to you unless you open it.
Romans 10:9-10 (HCSB)
9 If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:13 (HCSB)
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I bow in awe of the wonderful gift of Your amazing love for Your children. Likewise, I am so grateful for the gift of faith that allows us to receive it. Father, from the depths of our hearts Your believing children sing, "Thank you Lord". In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
