Title: The Role of Focus and Faith in Your Future

Hebrews 12:1-2 (HCSB)
¹ Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, ² keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God's throne.

Observation:

One of the things that I have come to appreciate is the power of focus and faith in reaching our God ordained purpose in life. I have observed that many start well, but not all finish.

What keep us from achieving our purpose are the twin killers of fear and worry. The antidote is to have focus and faith in a God who can do anything but fail. Here is the key.

Hebrews 12:2 (AMP)
Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Prayer:

Father God, help us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and to trust in Him with our whole heart. Father, help us to humble ourselves, so that You may exalt us. Father, help us to see through the eyes of faith that everything we need You will provide. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

⁶ Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, ⁷ casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.
