Title: How the Bible Can Guide Your Life

Text:

Psalm 119:17-24 (NKJV)
¹⁷ Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word. ¹⁸ Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law. ¹⁹ I am a stranger in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me. ²⁰ My soul breaks with longing For Your judgments at all times. ²¹ You rebuke the proud--the cursed, Who stray from Your commandments. ²² Remove from me reproach and contempt, For I have kept Your testimonies. ²³ Princes also sit and speak against me, But Your servant meditates on Your statutes. ²⁴ Your testimonies also are my delight And my counselors.

Observation:

This is a prayer that I often pray when I open my Bible. It's a prayer that our heavenly Father delights to answer. It's a prayer that will give you guidance for your life.

Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wonderful things from Your instruction.

We need the Word of God to guide us on our earthly journey because we are strangers here, and the Word will show us the way to walk.

I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me.

1 Peter 2:11 (HCSB)
Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you.

Allow God's Word to give you peace. Make it your delight; it will give you wise counsel.

Psalm 119:24 (HCSB)
Your decrees are my delight and my counselors.

Prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, I'm just a stranger down here, and I need Your Word to lead and guide me. Lord, I need You to guide me in each step I take, each move I make, and in each life I touch. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

I am safe when by Thy side,
I would in Thy love abide."
