Title: It's Examination Time - - Honest Self-Examination
Text:
Romans 12:3 (NLT)
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
Observation:
It's the end of another week, and for me it's a time of evaluation. Self evaluation is important. Paul encouraged the people in the Church at Rome to be honest when they look into the mirror. He said, "Don't think you are better than you really are".
He gave similar encouragement to the Church at Galatia.
Galatians 6:3-5 (NLT)
3 If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. 4 Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5 For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
You are special; you are one of a kind. Don't strive to be a VIP (Very Important Person). Rather, strive to be you; the person God made you to be. Then, you will be a VIP (Very Influential Person).
Prayer:
Father God, I pray that You will help each of us to soberly evaluate our life with the goal of being a person who pleases God. Lord, help us to see ourselves as You see us. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
