Title: The Promise of Unhindered Access to God
Text:
Luke 18:1-8 (HCSB)
1 He then told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not become discouraged: 2 "There was a judge in a certain town who didn't fear God or respect man. 3 And a widow in that town kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me justice against my adversary.' 4 "For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or respect man, 5 yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so she doesn't wear me out by her persistent coming.'" 6 Then the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay ⌊to help⌋ them? 8 I tell you that He will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find that faith on earth?"
Observation:
This statement "Keep pushing" captured my attention yesterday. It planted the seed for today's topic.
It reminded me of this acronym:
Pray
Until
Something
Happens
When you think about your needs; who do you go to for help; the unjust judge who fears neither God or man, or the heavenly Father who so loves the world; even you and me.
I am so glad that I know a God who loves me supremely, and who is holy and just in all His ways. He is so good and gracious in all His ways. He is a God that never grows weary of His children coming to Him in continuous and confident prayer. Here is what I know about Him and His provisions for His children.
Romans 5:1-2 (HCSB)
1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Notice the promise in the above passage that God's people have peace with God, and access to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, here is how we can claim this precious promise.
Luke 11:9-10 (HCSB)
9 "So I say to you, keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Join me as we PUSH our needs up to God in prayer; and in faith, watch and wait on Him to send us showers of blessing. Ask the Lord for what you need.
Prayer:
Father God, my dear Father, I am so grateful to You for the promises and provisions that You give to Your people. Father, I welcome the invitation to "Keep on asking" for Your help in prayer. Father, I ask You to increase my faith and confidence in You. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
