Daily Prayer_March 14, 2011

The Word for wisdom:

Proverbs 14:14 (MSG)
A mean person gets paid back in meanness, a gracious person in grace.

The Word for inspiration:

Psalm 15:1 (HCSB)
Lord, who can dwell in Your tent? Who can live on Your holy mountain?

The Word for encouragement:

Romans 15:13 (HCSB)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe ⌊in Him⌋ so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

My observation:

Today I want to begin to reflect and meditate on the prayer and benediction of the Apostle Paul as he concludes the doctrinal section of his letter to the church at Rome.

If you are looking for hope, you will search in vain until you look to the God of hope. The only way that you can find that hope is to believe in Jesus.

Romans 5:1-2 (HCSB)
¹ Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. ² We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

God has already done the heavy lifting in purchasing our redemption. I am so glad the author of our hope and our salvation is able to save us and keep us.

Jude 1:24-25 (HCSB)
²⁴ Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless and with great joy, ²⁵ to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time, now and forever. Amen.

My prayer:

Father God, I praise and thank you that in you, and in you alone, I can find hope. Father, thank you for sending Jesus into the world to do for us what we could not do for ourselves. Father I rejoice because of the blessed hope that I have in Christ Jesus my Savior and the Lord of my life.
