Daily Prayer_March 18, 2011

The Word for wisdom:

Proverbs 18:13 (HCSB)
The one who gives an answer before he listens— this is foolishness and disgrace for him.

The Word for inspiration:

Psalm 15:1 (NLT)
Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?

Psalm 15:5 (NLT)
Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.

The Word for encouragement:

Romans 15:13 (NLT)
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

My observation:

Today we conclude our observation of this brief prayer of the Apostle Paul for the people of the church at Rome.

The theme of this verse has been hope. It is a hope that comes by entrusting your life, by faith, to Jesus Christ.

One morning while going to work Edward Mote was inspired to write a hymn based on the hope that every genuine believer has because they belong to the God of hope.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name.

When you belong to God, you have his presence with you at all times because God is omnipresent. He can be everywhere at the same time. Therefore, there is never a time in your Christian life that you are without hope.

Psalm 16:11 (HCSB)
You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures.

My prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful and blessed to have the abiding presence of the God of hope living in my life. Father, I thank you that no matter what I am going through I can have joy, peace, and hope in abundance because these are things that you give your children, and the world can't take them from me. Father, I thank you for being my rock in a weary land, and my shelter in the time of storms.

My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less (Click on link below to listen to this song):
