Title: It's Prayer Time - - Let Us Pray, Pray, and Pray
Text:
Luke 1:37 (KJV)
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Observation:
I woke up this morning with prayer on my mind; I went to bed last night with prayer on my mind. I read a quote recently by C.S. Lewis about prayer; let's see if I can find it. Here it is.
"I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God, it changes me"
If there ever was a time when God's people needed to pray, we sure do need to pray during these trying times; and, it's not just about the crisis in Syria. We need a Holy Spirit led, God sent revival to sweep our nation, and the nations of the world, to turn God's people back to Him.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
I invite each one of you to devote yourself to prayer; it will change you, and it will change those around you who see what God can do in you. Let's take our burdens to the Lord in prayer, and take the Lord with us everywhere we go; don't leave home without Him; with Him nothing is impossible.
Ephesians 6:18 (HCSB)
18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.
Prayer:
Father God, my dear Father, I pray for an outpouring of Holy Spirit led prayers to sweep our world, and to turn Your people back to You. Father God, as the prayers go up to You, I pray that Your almighty power will come down upon us. I pray this prayer with the aid and assistance of the Holy Spirit of God, and in the name of Jesus. Amen.
O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
