Title: News That is Too Good Not to Share

Text:

Psalm 75:1-5 (ESV)
1
We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds.
2
"At the set time that I appoint I will judge with equity.
3
When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants, it is I who keep steady its pillars. Selah
4
I say to the boastful, 'Do not boast,' and to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horn;
5 do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with haughty neck.'"

Observation:

Sometimes people confuse witnessing with judging. Let's be clear, God is the judge. God's people are His witnesses.

Acts 1:8 (ESV)
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

As His witnesses we can do like the Psalmist; we can tell the world of God's wondrous deeds (verse 1), and we can tell the world of His gracious warnings (verses 4-5).

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I love to tell the story of God's love, and His loving care for all who have eyes to see and ears to hear the gospel of Christ; who came to save us, and not to condemn us. Father God, help me to be a bright shining light pointing people to the Savior. Father, unleash my lips, and sanctify my life so that I might tell and walk the story. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

John 3:16-17 (NLT)
16
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

I love to tell the story;
'Tis pleasant to repeat
What seems each time I tell it,
More wonderfully sweet.
I love to tell the story;
For some have never heard
The message of salvation
From God's own holy Word.

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

  1. Thanks for reading the post from September 13, 2013. The topic was sharing the goodnews of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

    Romans 1:16 (ESV)
    For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

    If you are not ashamed of the gospel; then why not share it today. The opportunities are around you, and people are asking spiritual questions; you just have to listen with open heart and ears.
