Title: Living By Faith

Text:

Ecclesiastes 11:1-2 (ESV)
¹ Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.
² Give a portion to seven, or even to eight, for you know not what disaster may happen on earth.
Ecclesiastes 11:3-5 (ESV)
³ If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth, and if a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie.
⁴ He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.
⁵ As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.

Proverbs 11:24 (ESV)
²⁴ One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

Observation:

In order to fulfill your God ordained purpose you have to launch out in faith. Just as the farmer must sow seeds to reap a harvest; so must each of us take steps of faith if we hope to reach our potential and fulfill our purpose in life. This is one of my favorite scriptures. This formula works: going, weeping, sowing, and reaping.

Psalm 126:5-6 (ESV)
⁵ Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
⁶ He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray for the wisdom and understanding to know your will for my life, and the faith to do it with my whole heart; having the heart of a servant. In Jesus name, Amen.
