Title: The God of Hope
Text:
Romans 15:13 (ESV)
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Observation:
As I was driving home from church yesterday, this thought gripped my heart; the God of hope. Then when I got home I read the scripture that I have selected for today. Here is what I know about hope that I have learned from the word of God, and in the School of Faith.
Hope is the light that shines brightly in the most difficult circumstances. It shines brilliantly in the darkest dungeons of the things that imprison us; in the dungeon of discouragement and defeat. The God of hope has the power to turn the jail house into a house of praise.
Whatever you need God is able and willing to supply. Do what Paul and Silas did; call upon the Lord to deliver you. What he did for Paul and Silas, He will do for you.
Acts 16:25-26 (ESV)
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them,
26 and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful that you are a God who is good all the time. Father, I thank you that you are the God of hope. Father, I thank you that you are still in the business of setting captives free. Lord, I praying that my eyes will live to see many that are in prison set free. In Jesus name, Amen.

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
