Title: Today Not Tomorrow

Text:

Matthew 6:34 (ESV)
34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Matthew 6:34 (NLT)
34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.

Observation:

The above text is not a prohibition of planning. Rather, it is an encouragement to not let planning interfere with your relationship with God. Don't allow worry to become the enemy of your faith in God. You faith in God is paramount to a right relationship with him.

It is essential that we always remember to look up to the Lord for our help; we don't have to throw up our hands or hang our heads in despair when trouble knocks on our door. Think about this when worry knocks on your door.

Luke 10:41 (NLT)
41
But the Lord said to her, "My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!

Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

This is the attitude we should have about today.

"What can I do today that will matter tomorrow?" - - John Maxwell

Prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, I pray for the wisdom and strength to do today what matters most; what will glorify you, and be a blessing in the lives of others. In Jesus name, Amen.

--

Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
