The Word for wisdom:

Proverbs 9:7-9 (NLT)
⁷ Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return. Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt.
⁸ So don't bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you.
⁹ Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more.

Psalm 141:5 (NLT)
⁵ Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing medicine. Don't let me refuse it. But I pray constantly against the wicked and their deeds.

My observation:

It pays to wait on God because he is a faithful God. The verse from Lamentations reminds us of God's faithfulness, and his goodness to those who wait on him. There are some things in life that have an appointed time, and you can never go wrong by waiting until the appointed time.

The Apostle Paul's conversion and preparation before service is a wonderful example of why waiting on God is a good thing. While Paul was waiting on God's timing, the Lord was molding his character for service.

My prayer:

Our Father in heaven, Sovereign Lord, I am so thankful that you are in charge of directing the affairs of my life. I am so glad that my waiting and my going are in your wise and strong hands. Father, I don't want to move before the appointed time. Father, I thank you for being a faithful, and on time God.
