The Word for wisdom:
Proverbs 1:33 (ESV)
33 but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster."
The Word for inspiration:
Psalm 118:6 (ESV)
6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
Psalm 119:133 (ESV)
133 Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.
The Word for encouragement:
Colossians 1:17 (ESV)
17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
My observation:
The theme that is running through our focal passages is one that has been on my heart since the first day of this week. The Lord keeps leading me to them so I will follow his lead by focusing on them in today's meditation.
I cannot conceive of any thing more beneficial to Christ followers than the knowledge that the triune God is for us. Think about the power of these truths from the word of God.
The Father is for us:
Romans 8:31-32 (ESV)
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
The Son is for us:
Romans 8:34 (ESV)
34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
The Spirit is for us:
Romans 8:26-27 (ESV)
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
My prayer:
Father God, Sovereign Lord, I am so thankful and blessed to be a Christ follower. Father, without you leading and guiding me I would surely faint and fail. But, with the Lord on my side, I know that the path I am traveling will lead me safely to my heavenly home. Father, I thank you that Jesus is the way, and that when he is before us, we can know that he will be for us, and nothing can defeat us.
