Title: Would You Like to Have A Joy Filled Life?
Text:
Philippians 2:1-4 (HCSB)
1 If then there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,
2 fulfill my joy by thinking the same way, having the same love, sharing the same feelings, focusing on one goal.
3 Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
4 Everyone should look out not ⌊only⌋ for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Observation:
What is the secret to having a joy filled life? Do you believe that God's purpose is for you to have a joy filled life? What did Jesus say about this?
John 15:11 (KJV)
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
A good start on unraveling the secret of a joy filled life is to devote some time thinking about, meditating on, and obeying what the Word of God is saying to us through this chapter. Today, our focus is on the first four verses of Philippians chapter two.
There is a plate full of wisdom in these verses to encourage us, and to move us toward having a joy filled life. The Bible says that Jesus wants His love to fill our lives.
Why not ask the Holy Spirit to be your tutor, and to help you to know, and do the will of God in this matter so that God will be glorified, that you and others will be blessed.
Prayer:
Father, hallowed be Your name. Father, I am so grateful for the promise and the hope of having a joy filled life. Father, we acknowledge that we need the wisdom and the power of the Holy Spirit of God to do His office work in our lives.
Father, I pray that each of us would be willing to call out to You, and that we would have the faith to trust in You to keep Your promises .
Father, I ask that the Joy of the Lord would remain in me, fill me, and over flow to others. I pray this for all of Your children. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
