Title: Where Are You Looking?
Text:
Philippians 3:20-21 (ESV)
20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
Observation:
The Apostle Paul took the upward look. He was able to take the upward look because of his relationship with Jesus; Paul was looking up because he was a citizen of heaven.
He did not have to spend a lot of time looking back because Jesus had taken care of the past.
Philippians 3:13 (ESV)
13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
God is able to take care of the past, present, and future. Do you believe in a God who is able; Paul believed in such a God.
Philippians 3:21 (NLT)
21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
Prayer:
Father, I lift up and exalt Your name above every name on earth and in heaven. Father, I agree that You are able, and I give You the praise, glory, and honor that You alone deserve.
Ephesians 3:20-21 (HCSB)
20 Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—
21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
