Title: What is the Condition of Your Faith?

Text:

Philippians 1:18-21 (HCSB)

18  What does it matter? Just that in every way, whether out of false motives or true, Christ is proclaimed. And in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice

19  because I know this will lead to my deliverance through your prayers and help from the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

20  My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.

21  For me, living is Christ and dying is gain.

Observation:

What mattered most to the Apostle Paul was that he believed in the sovereignty of God. He refused to condemn the motivation of others, even if they didn't appear to be right in his eyes. What mattered to Paul was that the gospel of Christ was preached, and in that he rejoiced.

The Apostle Paul trusted in the Lord with his whole heart, and he was devoted to the progress of the gospel of Christ.

Notice the confidence of Paul as reflected in the Amplified Version of this verse.

Philippians 1:19 (AMP)

19  For I am well assured and indeed know that through your prayers and a bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) this will turn out for my preservation (for the spiritual health and welfare of my own soul) and avail toward the saving work of the Gospel.

Prayer:

Father, hallowed be Your most holy and righteous name. Father, thank You for being a God of all power, and the God of the Word.

Romans 4:17 (HCSB)

17  in God's sight. As it is written: I have made you the father of many nations. He believed in God, who gives life to the dead and calls things into existence that do not exist.

Father, we believe Your Word that says, "God, who gives life to the dead and calls things into existence that do not exist".

Father, help Your people to have a growing faith; a faith that believes in God regardless of difficult circumstances and difficult people. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

--

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
