Title: What To Do When The Whole World Has Gone Mad?

Text:

Jeremiah 51:7 (HCSB)

7  Babylon was a gold cup in the LORD's hand, making the whole earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; therefore, the nations go mad.

Observation:

When you look around our communities and our world I hear the voices of the people crying out that the whole world had gone mad. We are looking all around us for help.

Today, I encourage you to take another look. I encourage you to take the upward look.

Psalm 121:1-2 (NLT)

1 I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there?

2  My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth!

The God who is enthroned beyond the mountains has spoken, and this is what He says to us in His Word.

Ephesians 5:18 (HCSB)

18  And don't get drunk with wine, which [leads to] reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit:

Notice the comparison. The whole earth drunk with wine results in madness. Conversely, the people of God filled with the Holy Spirit are filled with gladness.

Why not choose life? Why not turn from the madness of the world and turn to the gladness of living in the Spirit of God?

Galatians 5:24-25 (NLT)

24  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.

25  Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives.

Prayer:

Father, hallowed be Your name. Father, the hunger and thirst of my life is to be drawn closer to You, and to drink from the fountain of love that has been given to Your children when You poured out the Holy Spirit into the hearts of Your children.

Father, stir up the gift of the Holy Spirit that lives in the hearts of Your people, and empower us to walk in the Spirit so that we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Galatians 2:20 (NLT)

20  My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
