Observation:
David is a wonderful example of the outcome of putting your faith in God. David was not ashamed to shout it from the mountaintop that he believed in and relied upon God.
Psalm 31:1-2 (HCSB)
1 LORD, I seek refuge in You; let me never be disgraced. Save me by Your righteousness.
2 Listen closely to me; rescue me quickly. Be a rock of refuge for me, a mountain fortress to save me.
It paid for David and will pay for you to put your trust in the Lord. I find a lot of encouragement and courage in these words.
Psalm 31:23-24 (HCSB)
23 Love the LORD, all His faithful ones. The LORD protects the loyal, but fully repays the arrogant.
24 Be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD.
The lyrics of this song are on my heart this morning: "How Long Has It Been Since You Talked with the Lord?" It's time to have a talk with Jesus, and tell him my heart's hidden secrets.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I am so thankful that you are a God in whom I can trust with my whole heart. Father God, I am so blessed that when I walk with you that I am never alone. Father, I thank you for your abiding presence, and your almighty power. In Jesus name, Amen.
