Sunday Morning Reflections_July 10, 2011

The Word of God for wisdom:

Proverbs 10:9 (HCSB)
The one who lives with integrity lives securely, but whoever perverts his ways will be found out.

The Word of God for inspiration:

Psalm 96:7-9 (HCSB)
7 Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 8 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name; bring an offering and enter His courts. 9 Worship the Lord in the splendor of [His] holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth.

The Word of God for encouragement:

Ephesians 3:19-21 (HCSB)
19 and to know the Messiah's love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

My observation:

The Apostle Paul, and God's people of every age, could never be pleasing to God without the power of God that works in the lives of those who belong to God. That is a powerful truth to think about, and to assimilate into our daily lives. Who is that power that works in us?

Romans 8:9 (HCSB)
You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

My prayer:

Father God, Abba, Father, I am so grateful that there is a power that lives in the lives of your people that enables us to be who you want us to be, and to do what you want us to do. Father, I am so thankful that power is greater than my will power. Father, you know how weak I am in my own strength.

Romans 7:21-24 (HCSB)
21 So I discover this principle: When I want to do what is good, evil is with me. 22 For in my inner self I joyfully agree with God's law. 23 But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this dying body?

Father, my dear Father, I am so thankful that Jesus is the answer. Father God, I thank you that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit of God live in me.

Romans 7:25 (HCSB)
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am a slave to the law of God, but with my flesh, to the law of sin.
