My observation:
The thought on my mind and in my heart today is our children. What an awesome privilege and responsibility God has granted to those of us who are parents. However, as the saying goes, "Being a parent is not for cowards".
The verse from today's Proverb that I selected emphasizes the importance of training of children. It is significant to note that God's plan for children includes starting well, which is the responsibility of the parents, and the result will be a life that will be pleasing to the Lord.
I fear that far too many parents have fallen down in this most basic responsibility. The problem with today's youth lies at the feet of disobedient parents. Regretfully, many of our children don't have the rich and rewarding heritage that Timothy had. Would God be able to look at your children and say what the Apostle said about Timothy?

why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother's milk! There's nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
My prayer:
Father God, my dear Father, I praise and thank you for loving and caring parents who take serious their responsibility to bring their children up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Father, it is so shameful that so many of our children are not getting any training at home.
Father, we ask that your church would step up to the plate and address this issue. Father, give your church a burden to equip parents for their primary responsibility. We need Christian homes to save our children and our nation. Lord, help us.
