The Word of God for wisdom:
Proverbs 26:12 (HCSB)
Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
The Word of God for inspiration:
Psalm 130:2 (HCSB)
Lord, listen to my voice; let Your ears be attentive to my cry for help.
The Word of encouragement:
1 Peter 3:12 (HCSB)
because the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their request. But the face of the Lord is against those who do what is evil.
Psalm 34:15 (HCSB)
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry for help.
My observation:
The choice verse for today is Psalm 130.2 and the choice word in that verse is the word listen. It is comforting to know that when we cry out to the Lord that he hears and is attentive to our plea for help in our time of need. We have to mean business when we approach the throne room of Yahweh, and it behooves us to give him access to the deepest areas of our life.
The size of your problems may be overwhelming to you, but nothing is too difficult for the Lord. So, tell him all about your troubles and your problems. You can trust in the mercies of the Lord.
My prayer:
Father God, Sovereign Lord, I praise and thank you that you are a God who listens and is attentive to your people when that trust in you, and cry out to you from the depths of despair for help. Father, I thank you that you are a God who rescues the perishing, and who restores the fallen.
Father, when I look back over my life I see a trail of the goodness of the Lord. Father God, I can say like David that you are a God who listens to "my voice" and is attentive to "my cry" for help.
