Text:
James 4:6-7 (HCSB)
6 But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
7 Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.
Observation:
Who is the enemy of your soul? Who are you at war with? God's people sometimes think that God is at war with them.
God is not your enemy. God is not your problem; lawlessness is the problem; sin is the problem.
1 John 3:4-5 (HCSB)
4 Everyone who commits sin also breaks the law; sin is the breaking of law.
5 You know that He was revealed so that He might take away sins, and there is no sin in Him.
Here in a nutshell is the gospel of Christ; it's the only cure for the sin problem. God is the remedy for your problem.
Romans 3:21-24 (HCSB)
21 But now, apart from the law, God's righteousness has been revealed—attested by the Law and the Prophets
22 —that is, God's righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe, since there is no distinction.
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
24 They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Prayer:
Father, I exalt and give praise to You for Your greatness and your goodness.
Father, I am so thankful for the amazing grace of God that is available to all who believe in Jesus, and receive Him into their hearts.
Father, I pray than any who at war with You will humble themselves, and receive the gift of eternal life that You offer to all who believe in, and receive Jesus. For those who believe, let the Church say, Amen.
"Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see."
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
