Text:
Psalm 51:15-17 (ESV)
15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Observation:
There is nothing that the genuine child of God desires more than to be pleasing in the eyes of our Father in heaven.
When we delight the Lord, and are pleasing in His eyes, we are the beneficiaries of the favor, and the blessing of the Lord in our lives. That is why it is so important for God's people to sing the praises of our great and good Father in heaven.
Psalm 51:15 (ESV)
15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
Let's take the time to examine our hearts, open our lips and our mouths, and declare the praise of our God.
Psalm 95:1-3 (ESV)
1 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Psalm 95:6 (ESV)
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
Prayer:
Father, how blessed we are to be able to enter Your throne room, and offer up to You the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Father, You are worthy of honor, praise, and glory. We unite our hearts and voices with the Psalmist, and the saints of the ages in singing Your praise.
Psalm 145:1-2 (ESV)
1 I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
