Title: Who Do You Believe?
Text:
2 Corinthians 11:3 (ESV)
3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
Genesis 3:4 (ESV)
4 But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.
Observation:
Eve trusted Satan when he said, "You will not surely die". Do you believe your Maker or the one who is your hater?
Do you believe what Satan says? Think about this. This is what Jesus said about him.
John 8:44-47 (ESV)
44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.
46 Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?
47 Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God."
Who is Jesus?
Hebrews 1:1-4 (ESV)
1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.
This is what Jesus will do for you.
John 8:31-32 (ESV)
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
What say you about Jesus?
John 14:6 (ESV)
6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, Abba Father, my dear Father, I bow low at your feet, and give you the honor and the glory that you alone deserve.
Father, I believe in Jesus; Father, give me the grace, and the faith to trust in Him more. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
