Title: How to Keep Hope Alive in Your Life
Text:
Psalm 71:5-6 (ESV)
5 For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.
6 Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother's womb. My praise is continually of you.
Observation:
I came across a letter that my late wife wrote to her father on his birthday in 1984. In that letter she told him that she had highlighted Psalm 71:5 in her bible; it was the text of a sermon he had preached.
If there is anything that we need in the current condition of our world; it is hope.
I also found this quote written in one of my wife's many notebooks. It said, "Write your pain in the sand, and write your blessings in stone".
Psalm 71:8 (HCSB)
8 My mouth is full of praise and honor to You all day long.
Psalm 71:14 (HCSB)
14 But I will hope continually and will praise You more and more.
If you know the Lord; if He is your hope, and the one that you trust with your whole heart; then write that blessing in stone. For it is upon this foundation that you can live your whole life in security and safety of being kept by the Lord.
Prayer:
Jude 1:24-25 (ESV)
24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,
25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
