Title: What Do We Need to Do Now?

Text:

Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV)

8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.

9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Observation:

Sometimes the answer to our questions are right in front of us. We can look back, we can look around, we can look without and we can look within. However, there is another option, and it is not original with me; it comes from above, and I believe it is time for us to look up.

Psalm 121:1-2 (ESV)

1  I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?

2  My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Why not put a hold on our thoughts and our preferences, and come to the Lord? He is the only one that can help us, He is able, and He is willing. Why not come to Him now?

The burdens you are bearing were not made for your shoulders. Why not take the upward look, and come to the Lord? Why not take your burdens to the Lord, and leave them with Him?

Matthew 11:28-30 (ESV)

28  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

God loves and cares for you; He said He would, and I know He will. Are there any witnesses who will agree?

1 Peter 5:6-7 (ESV)

6  Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,

7  casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, I pray that in these trying times that people everywhere would realize that now is the time to look to the Lord, and to accept Your loving invitation to come to You.

Lord, I know that You care, and I am not too proud to say I need You now.  In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Matthew 4:4 (HCSB)
4 But He answered, "It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Psalm 2:8 (HCSB)
8 Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance and the ends of the earth Your possession.
