Sunday Morning Reflections_February 19, 2012

The Word of God for wisdom:

Proverbs 10:5 (HCSB)
5 The son who gathers during summer is prudent; the son who sleeps during harvest is disgraceful.

The Word of God for inspiration:

Psalm 37:16-18 (HCSB)
16
The little that the righteous man has is better than the abundance of many wicked people.
17
For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD supports the righteous.
18 The LORD watches over the blameless all their days, and their inheritance will last forever.

The Word of God for encouragement:

Psalm 37:39-40 (HCSB)
39
The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD, their refuge in a time of distress.
40 The LORD helps and delivers them; He will deliver them from the wicked and will save them because they take refuge in Him.

My prayer:

Father God, my dear Father, I am so grateful for the godly wisdom that is contained in Psalm 37 that was written by your servant David.

Father God, I pray that this Godly wisdom will keep us from fretting and doubting the Lord when we have to deal with workers of iniquity, and injustice in this world.

Psalm 37:1-3 (ESV)
1
Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!
2
For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.

1 Peter 2:2-3 (ESV)
2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
