The Word of God for wisdom:

Proverbs 10:19 (NLT)
19 Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.

The Word of God for inspiration:

Psalm 44:8 (NLT)
8 O God, we give glory to you all day long and constantly praise your name. Interlude

The Word of God for encouragement:

Mark 9:30-32 (HCSB)
30
Then they left that place and made their way through Galilee, but He did not want anyone to know it.
31
For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, "The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after He is killed, He will rise three days later."
32 But they did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask Him.

My observation:

The choice word today is fear. Jesus was near the end of his earthly ministry, and he wanted to get alone with his disciples to prepare them for his impending death, resurrection, and return to his Father's house.

What Jesus had to say to them was not something they wanted to hear. Their view of the Messiah was one who would come to remain with them. They feared this talk of death . It dashed and doomed  their hopes.

Their fear caused them to not ask questions. Think about the knowledge and understanding of truth that we forfeit when we don't ask questions because of fear. It is fear that enslaves us; It is truth that sets us free.

My prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray that you would remove from me any fear of asking questions. Although I can't sit at the feet of Jesus like the disciples could, I have the constant presence of the Holy Spirit living in me to be my tutor for life. Father God, I am so thankful for the office work of the Holy Spirit of God.

John 16:7 (HCSB)
7
Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don't go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you.

John 16:13 (HCSB)
13 When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.
