Text:
Psalm 27:1 (NLT)
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
Observation:
If you heard about a source that was inexhaustible, and that source was willing to provide for all of your needs, would you be interested?
Consider what David says in just one verse of this Psalm of praise and thanksgiving to God.
- The Lord is my light.
- The Lord is my salvation.
- The Lord is my fortress.
David concluded that he had nothing to fear. Then he goes further and makes this declaration about the provisions of the Lord.
Psalm 27:3 (NLT)
3 Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.
There was a dear woman of God who I served with in Alaska for many years who touched me deeply when she would sing this Bill and Gloria Gaither song.
"Every need He is supplying,
Plenteous grace He bestows.
Every day my way gets brighter,
The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows."
This is another verse that I read recently that speaks into my heart again today. It just keeps blessing me and encouraging me in my walk with the Lord. I pray that it will do the same for you.
Romans 8:31 (NLT)
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Why not accept this invitation?
Psalm 55:22 (HCSB)
22 Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
Prayer:
Father God, thank You for being a good Father, and for loving us with an unfailing love. Father, I pray that one lost sheep would hear your plea to come to the Good Shepherd, and find plenteous grace.
2 Peter 3:9 (HCSB)
9 The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.
Father, thank You for being a faithful God, and that You will never let us down. We join together in giving thanks to You. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
1 Samuel 3:10 (NLT)
10 And the LORD came and called as before, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel replied, "Speak, your servant is listening."
