Why We Should Never Forget the Lord

Text:

Psalm 94:18-19 (ESV)

18  When I thought, "My foot slips," your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up.

19  When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

Observation:

Have you ever been in the position where you thought I have really messed up now?

The Psalmist reveals in today's Psalm that there was a time in his life that he said, "My foot slips".

My friends our sins are either on the back of Jesus, or they are on our back. Which is it for you? Are you able to sing the lyrics of the song, "It Is Well With My Soul?"

"My sin—oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!—

My sin, not in part but the whole,

Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!"

Have you experienced the steadfast love of the Lord in your life? Do you belong to God, and God belongs to you? Are you able to sing, "Now I Belong to Jesus?"

"Once I was lost in sin's degradation,

Jesus came down to bring me salvation,

Lifted me up from sorrow and shame,

Now I belong to Him;"

Prayer:

Father God, I will never forget what Jesus did for me. Father, I pray for anyone who reads or hears this Word, and are still bearing the burden of their sins, will come to Jesus, and find forgiveness of their sins, and freedom in Christ. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Psalm 94:22 (ESV)

22  But the LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge.

Ephesians 6:10-11 (ESV)
10  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
11  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
