Text:
Exodus 33:14 (ESV)
14 And he said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
Observation:
If there is one thing I am confident of in my life, it is that I can trust the promises of God, and His Word.
I am convinced and confident of God's presence, and the promise that He would give His people peace. You can rest in that blessed assurance that if God lives in you; that God is for you.
Psalm 29:11 (ESV)
11 May the LORD give strength to his people! May the LORD bless his people with peace!
This is a scripture that bears repeating; especially in these trying and troubling days.
John 16:33 (ESV)
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
The question for today is this: It is the title of our message today, In Whom Is Your Hope and Trust? This hymn expresses my heart.
"My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand."
Are you standing on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ? If so, you can rest in His peace. Notice this promise of God.
Colossians 1:27 (ESV)
27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Prayer:
Father, hallowed be Your name. Father, give us today, and everyday the things we need to walk one step at a time in the Spirit of God. We offer this as our prayer of praise and thanksgiving.
Jude 1:24-25 (ESV)
24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,
25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
